Who We Are

Arising Christian Ministries

ARISING CHRISTIAN MINISTRIES is a God-ordained ministry called to proclaim the Good News of Salvation. Our vision is to reach the world with the Gospel of Jesus Christ through crusades, person-to-person evangelism, conferences, and seminars.

Mission Declaration

Our mission is to encourage people around the globe to believe that Jesus Christ is the only way to God, the only way to heaven, and to eternal life. Jesus is the Christ, promised by God, the hope of glory, the Savior of mankind, and Redeemer of creation. We proclaim Jesus, King of kings and Lord of lords.

Vision & Mandate

Vision: To arise and shine with the light of Christ, reaching nations with the Gospel.

Mandate: Reach, Teach, and Transform through worship, discipleship, and service.

Core Beliefs

God

One God in three Persons—Father, Son, and Holy Spirit.

Scripture

The Bible is God’s inspired and authoritative Word.

Salvation

By grace through faith in Jesus Christ alone.

Objectives

  1. To preach the Gospel of Jesus Christ according to His command in the Great Commission.
  2. To fellowship and worship as the Body of Christ (Matt. 28:19–20; Mark 16:15–16; 1 Cor. 12:25–28).
  3. To operate as a non-profit, non-political ministry (2 Tim. 2:3–4; 1 Tim. 6:5–10).
  4. To care for the less privileged—orphans, widows, the sick, the aged, the poor, the disabled, refugees, and prisoners—and to support the jobless and school drop-outs (Matt. 25:35–40; Acts 2:41–45).
  5. To open church branches in Africa and beyond, and to cooperate with denominations that observe sound doctrine to reach the world with the Gospel.

Current Activities

  • We have 18 church branches in Kenya and are planning to open others across Africa.
  • A dedicated team of evangelists conducts missions to regions where many have not yet heard the Gospel of Jesus’ love.
  • Education support for orphaned and destitute children who lack care.
  • Assistance to stressed and single mothers living in informal settlements, including those affected by HIV/AIDS.

Statement of Faith

DOCTRINAL BELIEFS (The expression of our faith)

i THE BIBLE

We believe that the Holy Bible, and only the Bible, is 100% the Word of God. It alone is the final authority in determining all doctrinal truths.

“All Scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness, that the man of God may be complete, thoroughly equipped for every good work.” (2 Timothy 3:16–17)

Also: Proverbs 30:5; Psalm 1; Psalm 119:105.

ii THE TRINITY (The Eternal Godhead)

We believe in the unity of the true and living God—ONE BEING in THREE PERSONS: the Father, the Son (Jesus) and the Holy Spirit—Creator and Preserver of things visible and invisible.

Deut. 6:4; Mark 12:29; Matt. 28:19; Gen. 1:1; Ps. 86:9–10; Isa. 43:10–11; John 1:1–3.

iii THE LORD JESUS CHRIST

We believe in the Lord Jesus Christ, the eternal Son of God; He became incarnate by the Holy Spirit and was born of the Virgin Mary—on earth 100% God and 100% man (Isa. 7:14; Matt. 1:23).

We believe in His sinless life, miraculous ministry, substitutionary atoning death, bodily resurrection, glorious ascension and abiding intercession.

Heb. 7:26; 1 Pet. 2:22; 2 Cor. 5:21; Acts 2:22; Acts 10:38; Heb. 9:12; Luke 24:39; 1 Cor. 15:4; Acts 1:9; Heb. 7:25.

iv THE HOLY SPIRIT

We believe in the Holy Spirit who proceeds from the Father and the Son—convicting and regenerating the sinner, and sanctifying and guiding the believer into all truth.

John 16:7–11; Rom. 8:14; John 14:26; John 16:13; Rom. 12:1–2; 1 Thess. 4:3; 5:23; 2 Cor. 3:18.

v THE ATONEMENT

God’s answer to man’s sin is the death of His Son, the Lord Jesus Christ; His sufferings and shed blood made full atonement for the sins of the whole world. There is no other ground for salvation.

2 Cor. 5:18–21; Gal. 1:4; Col. 1:20; Rom. 5:9; Eph. 1:7; Col. 1:14; Heb. 9:25–28; 1 Pet. 1:18–20; 1 John 1:7; John 1:29; Rev. 1:5; 5:9.

vi SALVATION OF MAN

Salvation is received through repentance toward God and faith in the Lord Jesus Christ. This new birth is an instantaneous work of the Holy Spirit—regenerating, justifying and adopting the believer into God’s family as a new creation and heir of eternal life.

John 3:3; 2 Cor. 5:17; Titus 2:11; 3:5–7; 1 Pet. 1:23; Acts 2:38; 3:19; Eph. 2:8–9.

vii THE DEVIL

We believe in the personality of the devil, whose influence brought about man’s fall and who seeks to destroy the faith of every believer in the Lord Jesus Christ.

Gen. 3:1–15; Matt. 4:1–11; Luke 4:1–13; James 4:7; 1 Pet. 5:8; John 13:2.

viii THE FALL OF MAN

Man was created by God in His image, morally upright and perfect, but fell by voluntary transgression; consequently all are separated from original righteousness, being depraved and without spiritual life.

Gen. 1:26–28; 3:1–7; Rom. 5:12–21.

ix THE CHURCH

The Church is the body of Christ, the habitation of God through the Spirit, appointed to fulfill the Great Commission. Every Spirit-born believer is part of the general assembly and church of the firstborn.

Eph. 1:22–23; 2:19–22; Heb. 12:23.

x WATER BAPTISM

Baptism by single immersion in the name of the Father, Son and Holy Spirit is required of all who have repented and believed in Christ. It symbolizes our identification with Christ in His death, burial and resurrection.

Matt. 28:19–20; Acts 10:47–48; 2:38–39; Rom. 6:4–5; Col. 2:12; Mark 16:16.

xi THE LORD’S SUPPER

The Lord’s Supper—bread and the fruit of the vine—expresses our sharing in Christ’s divine nature and memorializes His sufferings and death; it is enjoined upon all believers “until He comes.”

2 Pet. 1:4; 1 Cor. 11:23–26; Matt. 26:26–28; Acts 20:7; Luke 22:14–20.

xii SANCTIFICATION

Sanctification is separation from evil and dedication unto God—God’s glorious provision for every believer to be made pure in heart and wholly sanctified by the Holy Spirit, the Blood of Jesus and the Word of God.

1 Thess. 5:23–24; John 17:15–19; Heb. 2:11; Acts 15:8–9; 1 Thess. 4:3–5; Heb. 10:16–19; Rom. 12:1–2.

xiii THE BAPTISM IN THE HOLY SPIRIT

The baptism in the Holy Spirit empowers the believer to witness; it is distinct from and subsequent to the new birth, received by faith, and accompanied by speaking in tongues as the initial evidence.

Luke 24:49; Acts 1:4–5,8; Joel 2:28–29; Matt. 3:11; Mark 16:17; Acts 2:1–4; 8:15–19; 11:14–17; 19:1–7; 1 Cor. 14:4,22.

xiv GIFTS

We believe in the present operation of the nine supernatural gifts of the Holy Spirit (1 Cor. 12) and the five ministry gifts of Christ (Eph. 4:11–13).

Other gifts include prophecy, exhortation, giving, leadership, mercy, ministry and teaching (Rom. 12:3–8), with helps and administrations (1 Cor. 12:28). Whatever we do must be done in love (1 Cor. 13; Rom. 12:9–21).

xv DIVINE HEALING

We trust our heavenly Father to protect and heal. Divine healing is provided by Christ’s atoning death and victorious resurrection; it is the privilege of all believers and appropriated by faith in God’s promises.

Isa. 53:5; Ex. 15:26; Matt. 8:16–17; Ps. 103:3; 1 Pet. 2:24; James 5:14–15; Mark 16:17–18; John 14:12–14.

xvi THE SECOND COMING OF CHRIST

We believe in the premillennial, imminent, personal return of Jesus Christ to gather His people (1 Thess. 4:15–18). The exact date is undisclosed (Matt. 24:36). Different views exist on the timing of the rapture (mid-trib, pre-wrath, pre-trib, partial-rapture), but believers must always be ready; the faithful will be kept from the hour of trial (Rev. 3:10).

xvii THE MILLENNIUM

We believe in the return of the Lord Jesus Christ to set up His millennial reign on this earth.

Zech. 14:5; Dan. 7:22; Rev. 5:9–10; Ps. 96:10–13; Rev. 20:1–10.

xviii THE PUNISHMENT OF THE WICKED

We believe in the everlasting punishment of the wicked who reject God’s love shown through His Son. The devil, his angels and all not found written in the Book of Life will be consigned to the lake of fire—the second death.

Matt. 25:46; Rom. 6:23; Matt. 13:49–50; Luke 12:47–48; 2 Thess. 1:8–9; Rev. 19:20; 20:10–15.

xix THE NEW HEAVENS AND THE NEW EARTH

“We according to His promise look for new heavens and a new earth wherein dwells righteousness.”

2 Pet. 3:13; Rev. 21–22.

xx RESURRECTION

Jesus Christ was physically resurrected in a glorified body three days after His death. Believers will also be physically resurrected and judged to determine eternal rewards and will dwell with God forever.

Luke 24:36–40; John 20:26–28; 21:4; 1 Cor. 15:42,44.

The final resurrection at the close of the millennium is mainly for those who rejected Christ and they will be judged (Rev. 20:13–14). Those without full revelation (Luke 11:31–32) and the righteous who die during Christ’s millennial reign come forth to life.

xxi CREATION

We believe the heavens and earth and all original life forms, including man, were made by God’s specific immediate creative acts as presented in Genesis; biological changes since creation are limited to variation within species.
